Prof. Kalviņš is president of Latvian Academy of Sciences; member of scientific council of Institute of Organic Synthesis (OSI); inventor of anti-ischemic drug Meldonium and anti-cancer immunostimulator Leakadine, Meldonium GX, new Meldonium-containing pharmaceutical compositions, as well as, drug candidates under clinical trials Belinostat and Neramexane; author of more than 500 publications and 500 patent applications.
Awarded with a certificate and Golden Medal of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
