Rigvir Group in collaboration with the association “Dermatologists against skin cancer” urges to increase attention to suspicious skin formations and to check the health of the skin. On September 16th campaign “Be vigilant!” will be launched, during campaign people in Riga, Jurmala, Liepaja, Madona, Valmiera, Balvi, Ventspils will be able to check suspicious skin growths for free.
“Skin cancer is the most widespread skin cancer form among white population worldwide. One of the most important tasks for everyone – to be informed about possible threats and to recognize them in time, because melanoma is the most dangerous form of skin cancer and only early diagnosis can save the patient’s life. At the same time we can be satisfied that in Latvia is available cancer virotherapy – effective, safe and state-compensated treatment for this form of cancer on early stages,” explains dermatologist Dr. Raimonds Karls.
Specialists explain: melanoma often is found in young people. The number of detected melanoma is closely related to two things – development of both dermatology and dermatoscopy, allowing to spot and diagnose melanoma very early, and changes in human lifestyle, such as sunbathing habits – because one of the factor, which increase melanoma growth is prolonged exposure to the sun.
September is the best time to carry out such check-up, because summer is gone, when people tend to spend long periods in the sun. List with free consultations can be found at: www.melanoma.lv
